Xibo 1.6.0 is released, Spring Signage is ready!

Share

Spring Signage are very pleased to announce that last night we released a new 1.6.0 Xibo to the Open Source community. This release represents just over a year of improvements and bug fixes – find out more over on the Xibo Announcement.

It was very important to us that our Hosting and Android customers were fully supported immediately after this release, so that is exactly what we have done!

Xibo for Android

The latest R31 release of Xibo for Android fully supports connecting to the 1.6.0 CMS and will be automatically available free of charge to all our new & existing Android Customers.

Upgrading to 1.6.0 will also add the following benefits:

  • Improvements to Text, Ticker and DataSet media types
  • Improvements to File Downloads (pre-caching more content)
  • Improvements to the assessment for when a Layout is ready to be shown
  • Better logging and proof of play statistics

If you are running an earlier version of Xibo for Android, you might still be OK! Anything over R28 has support for 1.6.0 built in.

Xibo Hosting

The 1.6.0 release of Xibo is also available on our Hosting platform from today! All new accounts, including demo accounts, will come with 1.6.0 as standard and you can upgrade your existing hosting directly from the customer portal.

We wanted to make the process clear, so we have written an article to take you through it!
